Babies are Back in the Nest

Tonight  I'm glad to say all three of my babies are back home safely from camp. The girls had a blast at Lady Vol basketball camp and Oney at Camp Ozark. More details to come later-but tonight I'm just a thankful Mom. Thankful to have them home safe and sound. I'm also thankful for their wonderful Father, my Father and my Father in Law. All three of these men are so different yet so alike. They take great care of us!!! Thanks Judson for all of the sacrifices you make for us, time you make for us, places you take us, things you provide for us, lessons you have taught us, traditions you have passed on to us. We love you! ❤️

Wine Down

What a perfect evening to "wine down". I never really appreciated a lake house with a lake view. We have never had one and really haven't ever given it much thought.  Now that we have a spectacular view, I can't imagine NOT having one. It is so relaxing! Maybe I am just mellowing in my "old age", but I could just sit here for hours and watch the boat traffic on the lake.
Oney and I brought fresh shrimp back from the beach. It was just Judson and Oney and I. We had surf and turf and boy was it good.
How 'bout these s'mores? This is what you get to do when you are the "only child" for the night.

Ally and Al Wilson

Jud played in the FedEx StJude ProAm again this year. He was paired with Jim Brown. Judson was unusually excited to play this year because of one of the attendees..."AL Wilson"!!

When Ally was less than a year old ( and I was 7 months pregnant with Abby), I passed her over the rail at the Tennessee-Vanderbilt game to Al Wilson. This picture was our Christmas card that year. It read, "Merry Christmas from Ally and Al". Tennessee went to the Fiesta Bowl and won the National Championship. We had more people call and ask us to mail them a card or just call and talk about it. It definitely was a big hit!
So, when Jud heard that Al was going to be here, he said I have to take a copy of that picture and show it to Al. Of course, Al being the nice man he is, he LOVED it! He remembered that day. He said he wasn't sure who was more afraid...him or Ally!!! He signed a copy of the picture!

How amazing is this photo? A rainbow in the background and the Danny Thomas flag. Judson was tearing up in this picture, just thinking about his Grandfather and Danny Thomas.

A Hospital Visit

Had a good visit with Mom and Dad today. It's so hard to believe that Dad has been through so much so fast. I just hat it for him-and I hate that Mom hurt her hand and had to miss out on our beach trip. Still, we have so much to be thankful for as a family.
First smile we have seen in a while.
Dad's leg...

Mom's finger.

He Made It!

Yep...there is an APP for that!

Camp Ozark has an APP that you can check and make sure your child makes it to camp. How cool is that? Of course, I was refreshing every few minutes.

That awesome APP also allows you to see photos throughout the week. Yep, I stalked my baby boy all week. I lit up like a Christmas tree when I saw pictures of him.

How cute is this of him getting off of the bus? He looks so happy, excited, nervous, scared, innocent, etc. Oh, to be a kid at Summer Camp again!

Small Town Storm

Our Historic Town Square was hit by a tornado. As most tornados are, it was very random about its damage. THANK the Lord, it did not damage our Courthouse. It did however, do some devastating damage to a wonderful local business, Something Special. It forced them to close down for a major remodel. The entire roof was blown off the old building.
Several vehicles were damaged.

There was stuff scattered all over the square from the different businesses outdoor displays.
Luckily, no one was injured.

He's Coming Home

Mom just called and Dad has been discharged and will be coming home this afternoon. So excited for him and her! He has a pic line and will be taking IV antibiotics for about 6 weeks. He still has a long fight ahead of him and a long road to a full recovery. His leg is in a terrible mess. So please keep the prayers coming. He needs lots of rest and I'm sure he will eventually need some therapy on his leg. Thanks for all of your calls, visits and text messages. They have meant the world to us.

Off He Goes...Camp Ozark Here He Comes!

Packed up and ready to go to a new camp...

Camp Ozark in Arkansas with his Oklahoma cousins!

I am so proud of how brave he is and how he loves new adventures. What do you think about his cool trunk? I think its pretty awesome...it just about killed me and his Sittie finding it and getting it all "stickered up" like the other kids!

#theTHINGSyouDOforYOURkids

Can you believe I put my baby boy on a bus all by himself? I didn't drive him to camp, make his bed, unpack his clothes, etc. It was hard but I did it. He survived.

Dad Update

Dad had plastic surgery this afternoon on his leg. They created a flap of muscle and skin graft for the infected/affected area. All went well and he will be in the hospital for about four to five more days. He has been a real trooper through all of this.  You know his favorite saying is, "The rougher it is The better I like it", well Dad -you may change your motto after this deal! Thanks to ALL OF OUR FRIENDS ( Moms Friends) for sitting with her this week while we couldn't be there. You know who you are and Daphne, Mom, Dad and I can't thank you enough! Keep the prayers coming, because Dad still has a MAJOR battle with the infection. He may kill me but I have to show you how good he looks! Judson went to see him this morning and he sent this picture and a video (I'll spare you the funny video). Thanks again!

Update on Dad

Quick update on Dad. Considering all things, I guess he had the best news possible yesterday.

They decided to leave his incision open. He may or may not have another surgery to close him back up on Wednesday or Thursday. It is strep NOT staph which is the better evil. He will be in the hospital for at least a week. He will go home with a pic line and will receive daily IV antibiotics for a minimum of 6 weeks.

This is serious. Real serious. But I feel like we are in good hands now with our infectious disease doctor Dr Threlkeld and I think we finally got the attention of his surgeon Dr Shettley.

Please continue your prayers. We (my sister and our kids ) are still at the beach. We decided to stay because we have a long road ahead of us. Also-pray for my Mom-you know-she did almost severe her entire finger on Saturday and she hasn't even had time to take care of herself.

My dad is a fighter he can beat this thing. Thanks for the prayers.

Beachin'

After we got past the fact that (a) Mom had to have 13 stitches in her finger after she sat in a beach chair and nearly severed her ring finger AND (b) Dad had to be transported via ambulance from Corinth MS to Memphis late last night with a SEVERE infection from his leg bypass surgery two weeks ago, we decided to put Mom in a car and get her on the road home. Rob graciously offered to drive her so Daph and I could stay at the beach with the kids. Dad is going to have a surgery tomorrow morning. This is very serious and they aren't even sure at this point if his bypass work they did two weeks ago will take now. The cultures will be back in the morning to tell if it's staph. Daph and I needless to say are worried sick. Poor Ginny and Pop. Stay tuned. Pray please. Pray.

Awesome awesome day again today. Just relaxing. No schedule. No stress. (Except for the obvious gut wrenching worrying about our parents) Great day.

I loved this picture!!!
