Smoking Hot Principal
My family and I LOVE our principal and friend, Ms. Susan. I really cannot imagine school next year without her being a part. I won't have a "reason" to be in that Elementary building but I will have to come up with something to visit my friend! She has taken care of us for many years now. I will miss these sweet pictures she sends me! Thanks Ms Susan for being our awesome principal but most of all our friend. We love you!
P.S. Yes, that is mistletoe. Oney took it to her the last day before Christmas break!

Carrie Underwood Concert
I am pretty sure that I didn't go to my first concert until I was in college. My kids have already been to several. I hope they realize just how fortunate they are...in so many ways!
I drove the bus tonight and took them and "dropped them off" at the FedEx Forum. That was a first! They did a great job of updating me via text throughout the night. I went to Southaven and shopped for Christmas presents. It is a nice area and something different for a change.
On the way we stopped and got a quick bite to eat. I love these kids.
Anna Claire had tickets with her parents but she met up with us at the concert!

Friends
Annual Christmas Dinner
For the past several years, we have hosted friends for dinner a few weeks before Christmas. It is always nice to use our fine China, sit in the dining room, adults only for a delicious meal. Last year, I broke my nose a few days before our scheduled night. So Kerry graciously offered to host it for us. It was so nice being a guest! This year Lori offered to have us all and can you believe I "let go"? I love having everyone but oh, it is so nice to be a guest sometimes. Lori's table was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the company was the best!
With the guys Ryan and Eric in this group, you never know what they are going to be wearing! Ryan had on his yellow corduroy pants. Do you see the resemblance between him and Big Bird? Oh, he is so funny sometimes!

Thankful Yet Sad
There was a TERRIBLE school shooting today at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut.
Here is a brief description of what happened.
On December 14, 2012, Adam Lanza fatally shot twenty children and six adult staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary School in the village of Sandy Hook in Newtown, Connecticut. Before driving to the school, Lanza had shot and killed his mother, Nancy Lanza, at their Newtown home. As first responders arrived, Lanza committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.
The incident was the second deadliest school shooting in United States history, after the 2007 Virginia Tech Massacre. It also was the second-deadliest mass murder at an American elementary school, after the 1927 Bath School Bombings in Michigan.
I think EVERY Mom, Dad, Grandparent, Aunt, Uncle, Cousin, Neighbor and Friend are hugging and loving each other a little tighter tonight. I know my family is...PRAYING for these shattered families. Only faith in GOD could ever see them through something so horrific.

Ally's Asthma
We headed back to LeBonheur for another Ally appointment. Her asthma combined with her heart issues have really given her some trouble on the court this year. We are just trying to get a handle on it all. So, we went to an asthma Doctor to sort of "regroup" on her treatment.
This is Ally taking her breathing test. She failed it 5 times! It was really cool. She blew into the mouthpiece like she was blowing out the candles on the computer screen. She couldn't blow them all out-not one time. That was sort of scary to watch.
I can only get away with posting this because Ally NEVER reads my blog! This is her passing the time and taking her mind off of being at the Doctor. Ally has always hated going to the Doctor. I really liked our Doctor and I hope her new meds/plan will help her breathe easier.

Do NOT Play with Knives...
Did your Momma ever tell you NOT to play with knives? Well, obviously my husband didn't listen. He was at his Momma's house playing with a knife. He acted like he was going to do a fancy trick. It slipped out of his hand..first instinct was to reach and catch it with the other hand...and boy did he catch it! OUCH! As soon as I saw it, I knew he needed a couple of stitches. We headed to Baptist Tipton thinking we would be there half of the night. Surprisingly, we were stitched up and back home within about an hour! WOW!
Here is the knife that he was slinging around...He was lucky he didn't do more damage.
Funny Story: When we were checking in the ER, they asked him how it happened. Being the comedian that he thinks he is, he says, "My wife tried to stab me with a knife and kill me". Can you please call the Sheriff and protect me"? Their response...that's pretty funny Mr. Naifeh. I'm sure you deserved it!
Nothing like growing up in a small town.

Joy
"Joy", the name of Oney's LAST Elementary Christmas program! WOW! That is a hard one to swallow. The years have flown by...and have been FULL of JOY!
I snapped this picture of Oney and Lexie on their way in to the program. They both looked so grown up and did a great job performing. We have an awesome music and art teacher at TRA. Everybody loves Ms Carole.
