Ducks or Deer?

My view from the deer stand ...

Jud's view from the duck hole...

Those damn white trucks that ALWAYS drive by the indian mound stand and STOP and STARE!

I love to deer hunt and Jud loves to duck hunt. I think he has the prettier view though.

Juvenile Deer Hunt

Opening weekend of deer season for juveniles started out with a bang! Abby and Judson went together and Oney and I went together. We should have cut more corn rows because that field could have been full of deer and we would have never seen them.

When Oney and I are not killing deer, we are making crazy faces and taking selfies with each other.

He got him a double doe

These two sillies only got bonding time and a million selfies and snapchats!

This popped up on my time hop this week...this was the first year we started hunting as a family. WOW! Time flies by so fast!

High Cotton Hunting

Oh sweet Oney, I feel your pain! Judson took Oney to Mike Barker's hunting place, High Cotton Hunting for juvenile weekend this fall. They hunted the ENTIRE weekend and he got nothing.  I truly believe there is a little skill involved in hunting and a lot of LUCK! Judson finally had to make Oney come home. He did not want to come back to Covington empty handed! Poor boy!

Wildlife in the Hills

DEER, DEER & More DEER
This has become one of our favorite past times at Pickwick. Our neighborhood has countless deer welcoming us every weekend when we pull into the gate.  It is so amazing to watch these creatures. They have such keen senses and are so beautiful. Since I started hunting (really last year), I love watching creatures of nature (God). It is mind boggling! Animals are so smart! The girls love nature, too. Oney is REALLY into exploring at Pickwick. He is outdoors the entire time we are there. I think he has names for all of the deer, rabbits, frogs, lizards, birds, etc in the neighborhood! He loves to take pictures of them and feed them. It is AMAZING how close we can get to the deer. They are not scared at all. Every now and then he may try to scare or taunt them, too!
