TN Lottery...One Year Ago

Hard to believe that one year ago today there was a crazy media circus at our store in Munford. It was an exciting day. Craziness followed in the days their after...people assumed we won $1 million...people assumed we personally knew the Robinsons...people assumed we could convince them to give them some of their money. I received emails, text messages, phone calls, letters, Facebook requests, etc for several months. I cannot IMAGINE what the Robinsons received. I wonder if they would say today that winning the lottery was a curse or a blessing? Just curious?

If anyone out there does know the Robinsons, I would love to be able to take a photo of them in our store to hang on the wall. Just for the history books! We could even take it after the store is closed so that no one would bombard them...if you are reading this Ms Robinson, let me know...hahaha!

Hacked

So, well, with this new found fame comes getting my social media hacked! I woke up to my instagram profile looking like this and all these notifications on my account! Holy S*#T! Thats not me! What the heck?

Yes, I had an easy password on my social accounts...well not anymore! Luckily, I was able to get on and change my password before they locked me out. I went through and unfollowed and of these strangers. The only thing I couldn't do was get rid of the people that "I" had requested to follow. Oh well.
Lesson. Learned.

On a brighter note, look at our statistics for the store's Facebook page! Pretty crazy. And when you google our name now its all about the winning lottery ticket. Good lesson for my kids on instant fame (good or bad).

What Life is ALL About

I have said this before but I am going to say it again. Our Pickwick house is the best investment we have ever made. We have made so many memories over the kids lifetime that I hope they will someday treasure as much as Judson and I do. To be able to bring their friends up and have a house full of teenagers now is so much fun! We love having the opportunity to be around their friends and  to be able to get to know them.

In the winter, we love taking our ATVs up. We go for long rides, go mudding, build a bonfire, cook s'mores, walk in the lake, and take TONS of pics!

A must have after a cold ride...HOT chocolate chip cookies!
We even took a boat ride today...it was so cold though!

On  the drive home today I saw this gorgeous sunset! I think I must be getting old because anytime I see a Sunset these days it makes me start counting my blessings! We are one BLESSED family! What an ending to such an exciting week!

Lucky Lottery and Lake Life

In the midst of all this excitement, I forgot we were headed to the Lake for the long weekend (Martin Luther King, Jr Day is Monday). So needless to say I wasn't as prepared as I normally am and I was scrambling at the last minute to get it all together. I asked Ally to text me a list of groceries the kids wanted and this is what I got...

Well after my tv interviews, my phone blew up with notifications...the lottery winners came forward live on the Today Show in New York!  Lo and behold, yes, they were from Munford! Their names were John and Lisa Robinson and they literally live a couple streets behind the store. How exciting! Hopefully they will stick around and make a difference in our little town.

Our uniform company called us and suggested we make t-shirts. So we did! They were a hit and the kids really loved them!

This is a note from my pharmacy! This was just a funny note. BUT, you would be surprised at how many emails, text messages, phone calls, private messages, Facebook requests, letters in the mail, etc.   that we received asking for money! It was INSANE. Everyone thought that we got $1,000,000 instead of the $25, 000. I cannot imagine what happened to the Robinsons. It was really shocking to me the number of requests we got (and are still getting since I am doing this post late). People are so tactless.
This was a reporter from the Daily in New York and our cashier that sold the winning ticket.
More pictures from the day of the announcement.

This was on Snapchat the next day. This is John Robinson and his wife Lisa the day they claimed their winning ticket. I am so excited for them because they seem like genuinely good people. I wish them the best of luck. Sometimes I think they lottery can be a curse not a blessing. May God be with them in the days ahead and watch over them and their family.

This was the Snapchat article. This was the only way I could figure out how to save it. Pretty cool!!!

When we finally got to Pickwick late Friday night, it was so nice to be able to sneak away from all this craziness. Whew! I can only imagine how the Robinson's heads must be spinning!
