Prom???

Darien showed up at our front door this afternoon to pop the "PROM Question" to Ally. He seems like the sweetest boy. We think he may be a little too nice for Ally! Just teasing, he is just so soft spoken and quiet - sort of hard to be heard in the Naifeh household like that!

He brought her this ring, too. Very thoughtful! She said yes, of course.

Boys at the Lake

We always have a bunch of girls with us. Oney is usually way outnumbered. So, we decided we needed a BOYS weekend at the lake. Oney invited Peyton to go up with us and Mac Fullen has a place so we convinced him to come hang with them too.

Abby showing off her slalom skills. She really has this thing figured out...she is a natural at skiing.

Look at Oney go! He learned to slalom last Summer, too. He skis just like his Daddy! Wide open and crazy!
Judson loves to teach the kids friends how to ski or wakeboard. He takes pride in being able to get them up with just a few tries. Peyton was the first kid we have NEVER been able to get up. He was soo close. He just wore out.
Oney and Peyton covered a whole lot of territory on the Sea Doo. I think they had a couple of girls chasing after them too. I thought the boys were supposed to do the chasing?!
We always eat good when we are at the lake. I cook some of my best meals there. For some reason, it seems like its easier to get it all done there.
Pop enjoying the lazy boy.
Crazy, competetive, ping pong Papa!
Oney and Peyton

Jus doesn't ski very much anymore, but he still has it! Look at that old man go!
Jud was showing the boys some crazy you tube video. Can you tell they liked it???
Mac had never had a Sopapia...are you kidding me??? My favorite! So we ordered him one and he LOVED it!!!
Lunch on Sunday has become a tradition...Grand Harbor! They do a great job and it is nice not packing up all the food on the last day out on the water.
There were sailboats everywhere. So what does Oney do but take a picture of one though the spotting scope from our balcony! Good times!

Nature Find

How COOL is this Moth? Oney found it on the porch today. Makes me miss those elementary projects just for a split second.

Double Trouble

DOUBLE TROUBLE for SURE!

Seems like yesterday these two boys were just floating in the lake in their little yellow baby rings. Now they are cruising the lake on their Sea Doos.

Heritage and a Heart

I have NEVER seen a kid be more appropriately named than my son, Oney Naifeh. I will never forget when Judson and I found out we were having a boy. We knew we wanted a (JR) but were unsure of what to call him...Judson/Jud/William/Oney??? We were worried that "Oney" just would be weird for a baby...BOY DID WE PICK THE RIGHT NAME. He LOVES and EMBRACES his name. He is so much like Oney that it is scary. As we were cleaning out some of the storage units of the last few bits of Oney and Adele's stuff, Oney just clung to some of the "treasures".
Oney working hard polishing brass and silver.
Adele's signature mark-her name written with a sharpie on all of her silver pieces.

A hookah...

Oney's famous bicycle that he rode for MILES. I think it has seen its better day.

Guys Go to Pickwick

Abby went to St. Louis, Ally and I went to Nashville, and Judson and Oney took off to Pickwick! They were in need of a "MAN" weekend and boy did they have one! I know I never truly get the entire story of what goes on with those two on a man only weekend. I think that is a good thing by the way! The picture below is of them at breakfast at Viv's. Look at those stacks of pancakes! They were in heaven!

They were so proud of their small stash that they took out on the lake that weekend. One towel, one bag of snacks, a tiny cooler and just the two of them and the SeaDoo. I think they were hinting to me that I pack too much stuff...I know I do!

This is a picture of Oney driving Judson around Pickwick. Yep, he is actually the BEST driver! He will be an old pro by the time he is actually legal.

They had a mancala tournament. As you can imagine, Judson isn't one of those Dads that "lets" you win anything. You have to earn a win with him. They face timed us to get a ruling on their game!

They went to dinner Saturday night at the Mexican restaurant in Pickwick. I guess it is a good thing Oney is an experienced driver? Just teasing, they had a driver. Judson figured out that there is actually a margarita larger than a "mucho grande"... a "pitcher"!

Oney came home in the exact outfit he left home in on Friday. No, it had NOT been washed! They had a BLAST together. We all decided we should do "men" and "ladies" weekends more often!

High Cotton Hunting

Oh sweet Oney, I feel your pain! Judson took Oney to Mike Barker's hunting place, High Cotton Hunting for juvenile weekend this fall. They hunted the ENTIRE weekend and he got nothing.  I truly believe there is a little skill involved in hunting and a lot of LUCK! Judson finally had to make Oney come home. He did not want to come back to Covington empty handed! Poor boy!

Flag Football

The Chargers...

This was Oney's second season to play flag football. He was on a team again this year with Porter Hughes. Will Hughes also was on their team. I think they had fun being together and I hope they learned something about the game. They didn't play or practice that many times. Next year, Oney will play on the TRA tackle team. We are excited about that!

Oney loved to snap the ball!

This was probably Oney's most exciting play! He was going after his cousin Carson's flag!

As you can see from the pictures above, he almost had him. He actually would have had him but he came out of his shoe and lost his traction. Darn it!

Look how TALL and HANDSOME he is in this picture! He was proud of that last play!

There was always a crowd cheering for Oney and the Hughes boys!
