We "Heart" Le Bonheur

If Ally read my blog, I could NEVER get away with this post. Since she doesn't, here goes!

She has been having some "heart" issues for the past year. I, being the terrible Mom that I am, have been putting off taking her to the cardiologist. Before you think I am too terrible, I have been in constant contact and discussion with our family friend and pediatrician, Susan Aguillard. We have had many discussions, ruling out different things, marking things off the list, etc. I am just not one of those Moms that races my kids to the Doctor for every ache and pain. I think probably because I know aches and pains are part of my everyday life and something you just have to learn to deal with in life. Well, that being said, when Ally all but had a come apart about getting back on the basketball court this year, I decided it was time to go to the specialist.

I called the cardiologist at Le Bonheur that Susan had recommended. The minute I explained to them her issues and the fact that she was an athlete, they had her in the next day with a heart monitor! WOW!  She wore the monitor (the same period of time we had the tornado-so I know we had a good spell) and we went in to see the Doctor that next week.

How terrible did I feel when the Doctor said, "Yes, your daughter is having some spells/issues with her heart that showed up in the 24 hour monitoring period"! Oh me, I felt so bad! But, in my defense, my sweet Ally does tend to be a bit of an over reactor at times. Long story short here is where we are...

What is causing these spells???

A) Caffeine    B) Her Asthma   C) Anxiety/Stress   D) A real heart condition

So we are in a process of elimination. I really don't think it is the caffeine since Ally only drinks water, gatorade or sweet tea. I usually make my sweet tea half decaf/half regular. We now drink all decaf tea. We are over the next few weeks going to try to figure this thing out. Our next step is an echocardiogram and stress test. Please keep Ally in your prayers. She gets really anxious when dealing with doctors and hospitals.

On a positive note, Le Bonheur was AWESOME!!!

We haven't really been a patient there much (THANK GOODNESS) since their recent MAJOR renovation. Boy have they cleaned that place up! It is beautiful, clean, pleasant, professional, and much more! They have REALLY improved that place since Abby broke her arm in 2003! We had a wonderful experience and if we have to be somewhere, it is definitely the place to be!

How LUCKY BLESSED are we in the mid south to have St. Jude AND Le Bonheur ?

Tornado or Straight Line Winds?

Less than 24 hours prior to this picture, there was a terrible storm. I was driving a car FULL of girls home from the TRA football game. Out of nowhere, came high winds and rain and debris blowing everywhere. It came upon us so quickly we really didn't know what was happening. I could barely hold the car on the highway. I called Judson to let him know we were almost home. He had no idea it was that bad outside. As I turned on 59 headed towards our house, we saw a funnel cloud above the field across the street. The screams and squeals coming from that car were so loud! When we got home, it was all over with...except for the cleanup!

I drove on highway 14 the next day to see exactly what was hitting my windshield the night before. Here are the pics...pine cones, tree limbs, etc were all over the road exactly where it hit us!

Look how BLUE the sky was the next morning! It was a beautiful, cool fall-like day.

We didn't have any major damage. Breck, our neighbor, got the brunt of it. He had some minor roof damage, landscaping pulled from its roots, total loss of the play set, etc. We just had things blown around for the most part.

I say it was definitely a tornado...although it was never confirmed! Whew! Scary ride home that night!

Labor Day Weekend

Not a whole lot of photos to post from this weekend. I didn't take my usual 1000 pictures. I think after Europe, I am a little "tired" of the lens! Here are a few candids...obviously, I was NOT behind the camera!

I took a nap both Saturday and Sunday out on the Lake! WOW! It was so nice. I never just shut down like that but I think everything caught up with me. Look what happens when Mom decides to sleep. There are other incriminating photos of things my friends and family did to me, but I couldn't post those for the world to see!

The kids played a game of ????, I cannot remember what they call it. Its when you say a certain word and you cannot let your teeth show. I was terrible at it. Brad and Abby, the two "crazies", were in a heated playoff. I think Brad actually beat Abby!

Look at sweet, innocent, Miss Anna Claire. She caught Judson off guard and pushed him off the back of the boat. It was priceless!

Pocahontas wore her hair like this all weekend. She had two little boys loving the sea doo ride with her!

***There are NO WORDS to describe this picture or this person.***

His shirt says, "Don't laugh, it's your girlfriends shirt"!

My man, Oney, cleaning the back of the boat. That boy never stops working or moving! He has his Hughes partners in crime helping him out.

Golf Cart...Put to Bed

When we were in Europe this Summer, we loaned out our Pickwick house to some friends. Well without naming any names, there was a minor accident with our golf cart while we were gone. The "men" or should I say "boys" decided to take a midnight cruise. That is pretty typical of our men. What happened next, isn't very typical. As this unnamed group of "men" was carting around Shiloh Falls around midnight one night, they somehow lost control of the golf cart (and apparently themselves) and crashed the golf cart! Here are some pictures...from the looks of the cart, the men were very lucky to not have been hurt!

Oney was heartbroken to say the least! We tried to keep it from him until we got home, but he saw a text message on our phone. That golf cart is his best friend when we are at the Lake. We promised him it would be fixed ASAP!
I wasn't going to blog about the accident. I have actually tried to FORGET it ever happened. It has put a strain on our friendship. But, since it is now repaired and we have put it behind us. I just had to share this hilarious story.

We were at Mirimichi getting the girls golf lessons with the awesome Jennifer Jordan a few weeks ago and Oney comes running out of the bathroom. He had seen this figurine in the bathroom and taken a picture of it! He said..."Mom, that's our golf cart"!

So glad to have this in the rear view mirror. And yes, alcohol was definitely involved. Thank goodness no one was hurt! Now we can laugh about it!
