Hunting

How beautiful is this sight? I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way our farm looks this year! It just gets more beautiful every year! Not to mention that sweet daughter of mine walking in the trails! This was Abby opening weekend. She didn't see much...just a few does. She decided to wait on a big buck!

This is a buck I saw one day hunting by myself. Pretty rack, just too small and young.

He almost licked my toes...look how close it got to me!!! So cool!

My new Turvis Tumbler! Aren't I cool?

Sittin' here waitin' on a deer...

Until next time...

First kill

A Picture Is Worth 1000 Words

I took Oney on his first deer hunt of the Season. We decided we were going to work on our confidence and shooting skills and not wait on a monster buck. We were there to kill...a doe or whatever else we could snag!

Boy did we get some practice! He slung lead all over the farm! We actually ran out of ammo...that's a first! He got this HUGE doe! Dropped it dead in its tracks!

This picture captures the "thrill" of hunting for sure!

The serious hunter...

We've got blood!

Proud man bringing in his kill...not ONE but TWO deer on opening day! It's going to be a GREAT deer season for sure!

Taking pictures from the deer stand.

Oney and Tucker with their double deer kills! They BOTH got doubles on opening day. How cool was that???

Not So Quick

After two hours back at work today with Judson, I realized I may have jumped the gun a bit on retiring my passport.  I suddenly remembered why he likes to be "On The Go" so much. OH MY GOODNESS! Our office door was revolving ALL day long. We had everything from 50 different donation requests (it's carnival time-happens every October), shoplifters, employees needing to borrow money, equipment malfunctioning, customer complaints, a slip and fall, squabbles between departments, you name it...he was dealt it! Oh me-the crap he sorts through in a days time. We could write a book! At least when we are out for a few days, we can shut down from it all.

So, today I am thankful for my husband who LOVES taking his wife fun, romantic, awesome places and spoils me rotten. I am oh so thankful for him "filtering" his daily store issues and sheltering me and the kids from so much drama. Thanks Judson for wanting nothing but the BEST for me and the kids!

I Must Be A Slow Learner...

One of my favorite verses is:

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens ..." Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)

My little daily devotional email the other day was about time. The subject was "A One Cup Life".  It reminded me that there is a time for everything. It also made clear a very good point that I need to recite daily:

YOU CANNOT PUT A CUP AND A HALF INTO A CUP...IN OTHER WORDS, YOU ONLY HAVE SO MANY HOURS IN A DAY

Click on the link, One Cup Life, if you would like to read it. It hits pretty close to home for most of us Mothers.

Cabo San Lucas Snapshots

A few snapshots from my phone from Cabo San Lucas.

LOVE LOVE LOVE what I found on my desk at work when I got home! My sweet Abby had left me a note!

A Trip to the Grocery Store

A vacation is not complete without a trip to the grocery store. No matter where we go, we ALWAYS make a trip to the grocery store. What can I say? It is definitely in Judson's "genes". He is the absolute BEST shopper, too! If we ever get out of the grocery business, he will have to do all of our shopping because I am terrible! He figures the cost on items down to the ounce!

Tim and Judson were trying to find the best deal on orange juice. I really don't think there were any "deals" in Mexico.

Judson breaks out in Tony the Tiger in the middle of the Mexican grocery..."Therrrrrrrre Grrrrrrreat"! Yep, that is the CRAZY INSANE boy that I fell in love with...

Sweet Shirley taking charge of our crazy group. Notice the fact that Damon and Danielle stayed in the car! Hmmmmm....

I truly believe the locals thought Jud was Hispanic NOT Arabic! He just started mumbling English words with a Mexican accent and they LOVED him! That's my boy!
