Soup for the Sick

Pretty much since Christmas break began, we have been passing bugs / infections around. Oney has had the brunt of it all. Week one he had a bad sinus infection. Week two brought on the Flu. Week three - pneumonia. And a little viral gunk mixed in between. So, two rounds of antibiotics, two rounds of steroids. nasal sprays, inhalers. tylenol, etc. He - of all people - has lost almost 14 pounds!

Judson, Abby, and I have all had one of more of his illnesses...Ally has been the only one spared.I teased her and said its because she isn't a "hugger"!

We have been living off of homemade chicken noodle soup and toasted cheeses.

About the only thing Oney has done is play a video game here and there.

Christmas Eve and Santa

Boy how times have changed...where did all the Fisher Price toys go? This year instead of getting the kids a ton of "stuff", we opted for a big Summer trip to Greece!

Knowing that our Summers are getting harder to all be on the same schedule, we decided to take advantage of this Summer and plan a big trip. Lookout Greece, here we come! Oh, and since we will only be a 2 hour plane ride to Beirut, I am trying to convince Judson to make a stop in the home country. Stay tuned...

Santa spelled "GREECE" out in Greek letters and hung them on the mantel.

Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday to Me from the SEC Tournament

Judson and I had accepted an invitation to the SEC tourney in Atlanta banking on Tennessee making it. So much for that...we hoped to be able to spend the weekend with Ally and her friends at the game. TN ended up blowing another season. Judson and I ended up going anyway. We had already booked our flights and could't change them. So, we decided to make it a birthday celebration for me.

We went to the Dr. Pepper party on Friday night. The food was pretty good and the music was really good.

On the way back to our hotel room, I contemplated taking Larry Culpepper to our room. Just teasing, but I did have to stop and take a picture with him.

Look at my handsome man ordering room service for us for my birthday morning breakfast.

Look who I spotted in the lobby of the hotel, Steve Spurrier.

Who knew teaching an old dog how to Uber would be this hard?

Judson and I went to Ruth's Chris for my birthday dinner. Yummy!

Woke up early Sunday morning and headed home.

Pretty accurate description of the SEC this season. UGH...

My awesome birthday cake from my produce manager that was on my desk when i got to work. So Sweet and thoughtful! Great birthday this year!

St. Jude Marathon and LOVE for Lauren

Abby ran in her first marathon this morning. It was the St. Jude marathon and she was on Team Lauren in Memory of Lauren Moody. Judson and I were so proud of her. She really misses Lauren. It is hard to believe that it has almost been a year since she passed away. Since we were in Atlanta for my birthday, we didn't get to go cheer her on.

WOW! Look at that crowd! I know Dana and Joey were so proud.

Abby had a great time being with everyone and she loved being able to spend some time with Dana and Joey as well. We are so FORTUNATE to have St. Jude so close to home.

Gatlinburg Tragedy

Heartbreaking tragedy in Gatlinburg - there are no words that can describe this horrific disaster. Wildfires that combined with the perfect wind storm and severe drought wreaked havoc on East Tennessee. The Smoky Mountains are special to people from all over. This is so tragic.

The fires were just feet away from the Dollywood Resort.

This picture is from the girls very first trip to Gatlinburg. I remember it so clearly.
We had a TN Grocers convention and a Chi O reunion that same weekend.
It was so funny...the girls always fell asleep with their heads tilted in the same direction!
Ahhh....the good ole days!
Prayers for the people affected by the fires.
