The Bethlehem Star

Summer Meals

Guess what arrived at Naifeh's today???

RIPLEY TOMATOES...It is now officially Summer!

Judson had the first one for breakfast this morning. Yummy!

We had grilled chicken, grilled potatoes, squash, and fresh sliced Ripley tomatoes for dinner.

This is one of our favorite new spices...Honey Hog BBQ by Meat Church BBQ. We really like ALL of his spices. This one is our favorite for chicken.

While we were out back grilling, Oney cut the empty lot behind our house.

I love the green grass and blue skies.

Nothing like some Kraft Real Mayo on my fresh sliced "mater"...brings back childhood memories...good ones!

The Nest Was Empty...Sort Of...

The girls opted out of Pickwick and Judson, Oney and I went up of the weekend. Oney had friends at the lake so we never really saw him, only to get gas money for the seadoo and when he was hungry!
We took a ride to Shiloh Falls, the recently abandoned golf course. It is such a sad sight...becoming a wildlife refuge.

We stopped off to see Pop.

Oney and his friends.

Our sweet lake friends, the Carlocks.

I stole Oney's instagram.

It came a rain shower while we were gone and Biggs had a complete come apart and scratched on this  door until he bled. Ugh...

Our flotilla as we were leaving....all adults weekend...no kiddos.
Selling Yeti's off of the boat!

Ginny's new toy! She and Oney went shopping!!!!

Oney and the girls rocking it on the master craft.

The flyover...I always love it when they do flyovers at the lake.

Buddies...

EXHAUSTED!!!

TripleCrown?

This afternoon we came in off of the water a little early to watch the third race to the Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes. It was so exciting to watch for several reasons. We were able to take the kids to the Kentucky Derby this year and American Pharoah was in line to break the dry spell for the Triple Crown!

Victor Espinoza, the jockey, on American Pharoah after winning the Kentucky Derby.

And there off...racing for the Triple Crown!

Wow! Look at that lead!

Bob Baffert is one of my favorite trainers to follow. It was neat watching this race because EVERYONE was cheering for American Pharoah to win!

My tweet after the race...

#AmericanPharoah ONLY 12th horse to win the #TripleCrown @alnaifeh @abbynaifeh @OneyWnaifeh WE saw piece of history! http://t.co/fAyOnrUdkg

Im not real sure that the kids really "get it". Pretty cool that we were able to be a part of this history. This is one of those stories they will tell their kids and grandkids about!
