We "Heart" Le Bonheur

If Ally read my blog, I could NEVER get away with this post. Since she doesn't, here goes!

She has been having some "heart" issues for the past year. I, being the terrible Mom that I am, have been putting off taking her to the cardiologist. Before you think I am too terrible, I have been in constant contact and discussion with our family friend and pediatrician, Susan Aguillard. We have had many discussions, ruling out different things, marking things off the list, etc. I am just not one of those Moms that races my kids to the Doctor for every ache and pain. I think probably because I know aches and pains are part of my everyday life and something you just have to learn to deal with in life. Well, that being said, when Ally all but had a come apart about getting back on the basketball court this year, I decided it was time to go to the specialist.

I called the cardiologist at Le Bonheur that Susan had recommended. The minute I explained to them her issues and the fact that she was an athlete, they had her in the next day with a heart monitor! WOW!  She wore the monitor (the same period of time we had the tornado-so I know we had a good spell) and we went in to see the Doctor that next week.

How terrible did I feel when the Doctor said, "Yes, your daughter is having some spells/issues with her heart that showed up in the 24 hour monitoring period"! Oh me, I felt so bad! But, in my defense, my sweet Ally does tend to be a bit of an over reactor at times. Long story short here is where we are...

What is causing these spells???

A) Caffeine    B) Her Asthma   C) Anxiety/Stress   D) A real heart condition

So we are in a process of elimination. I really don't think it is the caffeine since Ally only drinks water, gatorade or sweet tea. I usually make my sweet tea half decaf/half regular. We now drink all decaf tea. We are over the next few weeks going to try to figure this thing out. Our next step is an echocardiogram and stress test. Please keep Ally in your prayers. She gets really anxious when dealing with doctors and hospitals.

On a positive note, Le Bonheur was AWESOME!!!

We haven't really been a patient there much (THANK GOODNESS) since their recent MAJOR renovation. Boy have they cleaned that place up! It is beautiful, clean, pleasant, professional, and much more! They have REALLY improved that place since Abby broke her arm in 2003! We had a wonderful experience and if we have to be somewhere, it is definitely the place to be!

How LUCKY BLESSED are we in the mid south to have St. Jude AND Le Bonheur ?
